Loma Systems’ pioneering Variable Frequency technology across its range of IQ3 metal detectors has won the prestigious Technical Development award at this year’s Food Processing Awards in Leicestershire, UK.
The awards are an established and renowned food industry accolade that recognise and reward cutting edge product development, innovation and quality. Now in their 27th year, they are the most sought after awards in the Food Processing sector due to the nominations being open and judged globally by the public. This year over 3,500 people voted and Loma Systems fought off competition from some leading companies in the industry to win the top prize.
Loma Systems has set an unprecedented benchmark for the industry by developing a Variable Frequency function inside their metal detectors, allowing automatic detection of contaminants within a wide frequency range (31KHz-882KHz). The system can be configured to automatically select the correct frequency for numerous food products and packages during calibration, ensuring detection sensitivity remains at a peak regardless of which particular product is being inspected by the unit at any given time. This greatly reduces the possibility of operator error, which minimises product wastage or recall costs.
Loma also picked up a finalist award in the Innovation category for their CW3 Combination Checkweigher and Metal Detector.
